How Old is Troop 90?   The Boy Scouts of America was founded on February 8, 1910.  Troop 90 is one of the BSA's oldest troops.  Troop 90  traces its origin back to January 1918, when Scoutmaster  Howard Curnow's Application for Commission as Scoutmaster was approved by the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

In 1918, the troop was designated as Troop 1 of Pacific Grove, and was sponsored by the First United Methodist Church of Pacific Grove.  (Troop numbers are unique to each scouting district, so many troops have been designated as "Troop 1".)  The troop was inactive from 1924 to 1927, but was reorganized and reregistered as Troop 90 in April 1927.  The Rotary Club of Pacific Grove was the sponsoring organization and has continued to do so.  In April 2004, Troop 90 will be 83 years old.  Troop 90's motto, "The Oldest and the Boldest", reflects its many years of service to youth.   Link:  Newspaper Article on Troop 90 History

How Many Scouts Have Earned Their Eagle with Troop 90?   Troop 90 lists recent Scouts who have earned the rank of Eagle on the Eagle's Nest page.  This page, unfortunately is not complete, as many Troop records were lost relating to the period before 1996.  If you, or someone you know, earned their Eagle as a Scout with Troop 90, please let us know so that we may add the missing name(s) to our Eagle Roster.
